The best calculator for a Calculus/Engineering Student?

Posted on May 8, 2011

Question by Fubsywubkis: The best calculator for a Calculus/Engineering Student?
Ok so, I have been using a TI-86 ever since my Jr year of High School, up through my first two years of college. Then, about a week ago, I made a big boo-boo and accidentally stepped on the screen, totally breaking it and rendering it unusable.

Luckily, my Student Loans are enough that I’m just going to get a new one! So I’m wondering, should I go back to my TI-86? Or have people had more success with other calculators? (I can’t use the TI-89, it’s not allowed in my math classes)

Thanks for any/all help!

I have used various models of Casio scientific calculators, all solar powered. I have been happy with them. Just look at any calculator closely to see that it has the functions you want.
